ILP "Design"- Venngage

For this ILP, I created a diagram on Venngage. I made a Fill-in-the-Blank Life Cycle of a Butterfly activity for students. Each blank on the page should be a letter for the correct word.

Blog Post #10

If I were a teacher from grades 7th - 12th, I could use data collection by giving out surveys to my students on how I can improve my teaching. I can give a survey after a test to determine if the test given fully covered all topics learned in a specific subject (qualitative). In order to use reporting tools in the classroom such as Excel, I could make a spreadsheet my classroom with the names of every student already inputted (any grade and subject) and easily take attendance. Using excel could easily tell me how many students are in class on a given day.

When looking back at my classmates' blogs, I found the grade level they chose for their websites interesting. A lot of students chose a higher grade level and a specific subject while I chose kindergarten. Everyone's websites were unique and very creative. I appreciated going through those who put so much work into their classroom website. It was fun to read what they had and to explore every tab. Especially those who chose history. They went into depth with their information and the theme of their website fit perfectly.

A technology-related skill I would love to learn next is how to edit video. I have tons of videos of my siblings and I that I want to edit together as a gift for my parents. However, I have no clue on how to even start. The video collages that people post on youtube of them going on trips always look so nice and organized. I want to do something similar. In order to achieve this goal, I will youtube videos on how to edit video on my laptop. There are youtube videos for everything. Or I can go on Lynda.com and hopefully get a better understanding.

Blog Post #9

The Flipped Classroom is a way of teaching/organizing the learning environment by requiring that the students do all of their reading online/at home. Then when they come to class, they would do all assignments, labs, etc. If the student does not do the required reading for the upcoming class at home then it is on them.

Open Education, Open Content, Open Source:

All things open allow various people to use these resources free of charge and make life easier. Open education allows a student, who cannot be in a classroom, to gain the same education as any other student on their free time. Considering that open education is free, the student will not have the ability to contact/report to an instructor. Open content allows individuals to access helpful material online for free. For example, an instructor can access a free template for a syllabus or monthly announcement that someone posted.

I enjoyed working on both Powerpoint assignments. I love how you can be very creative with the software and the new design layouts are so pretty. For the first Powerpoint assignment, the Information Dissemination, I used the knowledge I already knew to complete the assignment. However, making the Interaction assignment was very different. I did not know that you could add buttons to the slides to allow them to switch to another. I had fun creating the small trivia game but it was a pain in the butt to go back add buttons to all the slides.
